Part Identification Question
I'm thinking about changing out the intake manifold on my 1999 coupe to a 2001 or newer manifold. How do you tell the difference between the two when buying a used unit no longer on the car?
IF, like myself, you're not that familiar enough with the "97-00" and the "01-04" units, to make a "visual ID", what do you do?
Are there some markings that you need to look for, which will identfy the newer "01-04" units?
Thanks in advance....

WOW, I think I've STUMPED the membership with this one!

Look on the underside. The later (Z06 style) versions are much flatter underneath, due to the larger interior volume inside the manifold. As a matter of fact you can't install it on the earlier engines without a.) removing the small metal water crossover tubes and relacing them with the later version, and b.) removing the little green plastic clips that hold the knock sensor wires in place on top of the valley cover.
If/when you get two of them side by side, you'll see very obvious differences underneath.
