Thanks for all the input guys. I hope to be placing an order this Monday. Haven't decided exactly what I'm going to get yet, but I'm going to seriously consider the various comments brought up in this thread.
BTW, I looked at the vette Dr.'s site, and I'm kinda bugged that they don't list prices for headers on there. I hate it when I go shopping (for car parts or otherwise) and I have to ask for prices. Just my $.02.
Any header system (I have QTP`s) with a slip-joint/clamp set-up tend to be prone to leaks at the slip joint and are harder to pull apart should you need to.
If I were to buy a set now I would probably go with the American Racing for this reason.
Good luck with your decision.
My Bassani are that way..the header pipe slips into the connector pipe and has a big azz clamp, so if the header pipe goes inside the pipe and is clamped off there is no possiable way of leaking...haven had a leak as of yet..
I have Bassani..great fit...came ceramic coated..sounds great thru my Magnaflow hi-flo cats and Magnaflow X-pie out the ZO6 Ti cat back...
good luck on your choice..

The ARH has the x -pipe before the convertors. This allows for better scavenging. And when you look inside the ARH x-pipe it is deburred after welding. The nicest I have seen. The convertors are welded to the pipes for fewer joints. The inside of the merge collector has extended cone where the four pipes come together. There is more workmanship in the ARH.
Why not try the American racing headers??
I know it doesn't answer the question you asked, but I have them on mine and really love them, just wanted to give you one more to choose from!
There is a real difference in power and they sound unbelievable!! Vette doctors swear by them, ECS loves them as well as A&A!!!
never heard of any sealing issues with american racing or Kooks
Here is what American racing headers do to your car!! Don't worry guys, this is an empty closed road as you can see!!
SMOKE: The oil is from the differential, no worries here, I filled it a few hours ago, the smoke is the oil drops getting burned by the B&B Bullet exhaust!
GO with ARH!!! 150+ mph passes!!!
One more thing, I remember ECS saying they picked up 28 RWHP with these headers without tuning! It's the most I have seen without a tune.
Another forum member posted a dynograph before and after the installation of the ARH and of course after a tune and the car picked up 48 RWHP! That's crazy!
The design is better than the LG's! I have installed LGs on my friends car and ARH on mine, don't get me wrong, LGs are very good headers but I think that the ARH that came out later have some improvement. For me they are superior in terms of design and quality (his LGs look kinda rusted after a while)
No bashing here, just a comparison between two systems!
PS: ARH are a little cheaper and used by the fastest shops in the USA (Vette doctors, ECS and AA)!
Last year installed LG Pros and Callaway Honker. I'm an auto tech by trade so it wasn't too much of a challenge. In August drove up and had the Car (04 MN6) tuned at the Vette Doctors. Spent some time talking mods and results.
During a break, I walked next door to ARH and had a little tour. I WAS IMPRESSED! Their product is a work of art. Well engineered, high quality, equal length tubes.
If I had to do it again, it would have been the American Racing Headers.
P.S.
Dyno Tune Results:
1st pull 262.06 HP 329.29 torque (computer was set WAY too lean)
Dynatechs here on my Z06. Installed in my garage in about 8 hours, no leaks, no codes, fits well, absolutely EVERYTHING you need for the install is included in the kit. If I had it to do over again, the only difference would be to have them coated before installation.
BTW, since the AR X-pipe cross-over is before the cats, wouldn't that tend to screw up the computer if you had a problem on one bank and not the other? It doesn't seem like you'd get a true read on what one side is doing vs the other side.

the primary o2 sensors are still before the x pipe.
