Stock shocks

How long do the stock shocks in these cars typically last?

I'm working on a deal for a 98 w/74K on it and the owner thinks they're the original stockers.

That number can vary a lot depending on the road conditions, surfaces, speeds, driver, etc. Another problem with shocks going is that the process usually takes place so gradually that the driver doesn't notice, unless he replaces or drives someone else's car with fresh shocks.
I would say that 74K is approaching the end of the road for those.

I would say the shocks are ready for replacement at 50k. You can get new ones for $200-$500 and install them yourself. No big deal. Ask them to deduct some of that expense from the price of the car that way you can pick the shocks you want.

Well if things work out I'm getting it cheap enough so I'm not worried about it
