is it worth it/
Callaway Honker and long tube headers with X pipe, TI cat backs:
After tune= 346 HP @ rear wheels!
Don't mess with the MAF. More trouble than it's worth and could give you problems later.
My opinion, the above was the best bang for the buck with the least drawbacks.
Sorry, I can't give you before and after results. The LS1 responds well to better breathing/exhaust. If I could only do one performance mod, it would probably be the Honker. Well made, well engineered by some good people.

Here's an article from Vette Magazine - Aug '05 - that reports on a test perfromed by MTI in Georgia. It was completely independent; Callaway had nothing to do with it. They recorded 19.5 hp (at the wheels) without tuning and 32.3 hp after tuning.

Putting the Honker on my car gave a very definite and snappier midrange feel and response. Well worth it in my mind to have a car that can pull in the middle gears better than it had been. Again, I can't measure it, my Levis aren't calibrated :p but I can sure feel it.
