I Have A 98 Blowing Hot Air Driver Side On Ac Or Vent, Have Changed Control Head And Blend Door Acuator. Was Working Fine Then Just Started Blowing Hot Air After Replacing Acuator Last Week. Droped Off At Deale Saturdy And This Morning They Say It Is Working Just Fine. Woulnt It Have A Code In The Compuiter :??? What Else Could It Be??
If the actuator is acting up there will be codes (cant remember the #'s). Lots of threads about this lately, must be the heat. Try disconnecting the battery for a few hours and the actuator(s) will reset. If that doesn't do it and there are no codes present then you may just have a low charge. Evacuate and refill to weight per the capacity. (1.63# of freon if I recall).
Go get the freon charged up. I would bet you are down quite a bit.
My a/c on my '98 was working fine, then started blowing hot on the drivers side while the passenger side was cold. Common sense told me the actuator was messed up, but since it was 9 years old, I took it in to have the freon checked. Turns out I was about 40% low, and both sides have been blowing ice cold since. This was over 3 months ago, so I can say my problem is fixed. Seems like a common problem with C5's.
The Battery Was Bad, Dont Know If That Is Why It Started Acting Up Or Not. Now The Dealer Say It Is Working Fine Had One Code But Didnt Tell Me What It Was. Could A Bad Battery Cause The Problem? It Was Working Fine And Just Like You Turned The Heat On That Quick.
