Ok, i have a 2000 convertible that had a JVC EXAD head unit in it when i bought it. I've heard all kinds of horror stories about the c5 bose system and aftermarket head units. Is there a way to have the Bose factory amps work with this unit? If not are there any aftermarkets CD head units that will work?
I have an AFTERMARKET HU. The unit described in the link says it's for adding an aftermarket amp. I just want the factory amps to work with the factory speakers. Is there a way to do this that doesn't require a degree in electronic engineering?
Didn't read link but changed HU and had to get some kind of adapter unit to get it to work...I worked with a place called cartoys..They said they had run into this problem all the time...I would just call reputable sound installer and ask . I 'm trying to remember it was something like 70 to 80 bucks....I know this is probably ask clear as mud...sorry ,but it can be done.
That looks like it. Mine did have some kind of gain control. Or do what I did keep it for 3 months trash the whole system add new hu, amp and speakers...wish I could remember the acronym they said Bose stood for. I do remember it wasn't very flattering.
