Bilstein Sport question......
I have a set of Bilstein Sports that I am going to install.
When I opened one of the boxes the blue sleeve had come off of the shock, there 's a bushing and washer installed at the base of the shaft in addition to the two washers and bushings that are packaged in a plastic bag.
I checked the other 3 shocks and they all have this bushing and washer that is hidden under the blue sleeve.
My question is do I need to remove these before they are installed?
To me it seems that the washer and bushing serve no purpose and that the washer will just rattle around.
I did a search and none of the install write ups address this.
Maybe it was a mix up at Bilstein and they were installed on the shocks by mistake?
