Default Raptor shift light ???

I just received my Raptor shift light and decided I will wire it from under the dash. Any sugestions as to where to mount it? Pics would be great. What RPM should I set it for. I am NA. Thanks

I don't have any pictures, but where I mounted it is right on top of the steering wheel colum. I just sat in the seat and positioned it so it was in between the gauges, so it didn't block anything in the gauge cluster. I used double-sided foam tape and just stuck it in position using the mounting hardware that came with it. It's light enought that it hasn't moved at all.

I mounted mine on the a-pillar. I've also seen them installed on top of the steering wheel which looked good.

I designed a custom mount for mine in my A-pillar pod under my A/F gauge and had it machined out of Delrin.

I put mine up by the windsheild, at the joint between the dash and the A pillar joint. I used one of the supplied clips that is held in place with 2 medium sized nylon wire ties. One tie is fed through the bottom of the clip. The other is cut off so all you use is the locking part. leave enough of the first tie hanging down so it can be slipped into the joint in the dash, and then pull it tight.
The light can be swiveled a little to aim it.

A google search will give you a number of places to buy it. Look around for the best price.

Is it hard to connect?
No. You have to remove the bottom of the dash (the part below the steering column, find the power and signal wire, and a ground. There is a very good instruction post here. Use the search (shift light install). Just be sure to read the install instructions that come with the light, and note that the GREEN wire is NOT the ground like in most electrical stuff, but the signal wire. The Black wire is ground

What is the cost?
In blue LED, mine was about $100.

I just finished installation. Wired everything from under the dash. Found the tack wire on the left sided of the steering column. There is four white wires but the tack wire is an offwhite color and is different than the others. I tapped into the big orange wire on the right side of the steering column for power.

I noticed that the stock tach cannot keep up with the engines rpm because the Raptor lights up about 200rpm before the needle reaches the rpm programmed. What rpm should I set it at? What is the stock rev limiter set at?

Put mine about eye level. It is realy bright but you need to get your attention while at the track. It will help your times getting your shifts right where you want them. I noticed after going to 390s the tac was about 500 RPM slow in 1st, so I have mine set @ 6650. This way I grab 2nd around 6700-6800 to keep it off the limiter (7050) and then drive through it a bit 2-3, 3-4.

Best bet on a stock motor is 500 below redline to start off with. Good luck
