Help with Codes- running lean
I have a stock C5 with a Vararam and a ported polished throttlebody.
If anything it runs slightly rich.
There have been no changes whatsoever in the last 3 months.
The car ran solid on a 400+ mile trip Wednesday night from Lansing MI to Effingham Il.
Yesterday after a day of baking in the sun at MidAmerica Funfest, the the car ided high (approx 1200rpm) and the check engine light came on and the car threw a DIC code P0171.
I cleared the codes, pulled the #16 &23 fuses and cleared the check engine light.
The car ran well today, until after baking in the sun again, on start the idlewas high (again 1300-1400 rpm) after about 2 miles the check engine light came on and the car threw codes P0171 and P0174.
Both are lean running codes(left bank, right bank).
I don't have my service manual with me....
Any thoughts on what my problem is...
The ONLY change... after running exclusively on Shell V-Power, I put a tank of BP- Amoco Ultimate in it and about 150 miles later I have the codes....
Any ideas?
