Ok I had my drive train out for anout a month and a half. Tranny was leaking. Well I finally put everything back together and It started right up and ran fine. My wife took it out about 1 hour later. She got stuck at a gas station, wouldnt start. Well I got up there and got in and it started right up. Drove the next day and never had a problem. This morning I went to start it up and it wouldnt start. I kept on turning the key trying to start it and nothing. I pressed the gas pedal a few times and it kinda started but died a few times. So I pressed the gas pedal a few times and it started right up. Went to the grocery store and came home wiothout a problem. What in the world is going on, fuel pump, starter??????? Please help Thanks!
It sounds like it didn't even crank when you had the problem. I assume it didn't make any sound. Did the lights inside the car go off as well and stay off for a few seconds?
Check the battery cables. If one of the cables at the battery or the cables at the starter is loose and making a poor connection, it will open circuit as soon as the high current juice starts to flow.
If the cables are fine, try cleaning the ignition key hole with a pipe cleaner and alcohol - the pass-key pellet contacts may be dirty. Check for DIC codes to see it there's anything stored that may confirm this or possibly point to another possibility.
All the lights were on and bright. I will check the cables and clean the ignition hole and see if that solves it. Thank You very much for your information!
Mine did that. Went to dinner one night and it wouldn't start. Tried my wife's keys and it still wouldn't start. Waited a couple of minutes and she fired up. Went about two weeks before it happened again. Called tow truck to take it to the dealer. Starter was fried.
