I'm wondering how much it would cost to change my corvette to a standard from an automatic transmission? I bought the car because it was exactly what I wanted red/black interior/ targa roof but not the standard transmission! Would I see much of a difference and is it worth changing? or could I just supercharge it for the same ammount?( not looking to spend more than 2,000 maybe 2500
For about that amount you can change gears and get a high stall converter. You can't believe what a dif. that makes I think it would cost a lot more than that to change the trannys

Sell it. Buy what you want. You will lose mucho money in resale if you make the shift because if the car is carefully checked out and the buyer discovers it was an auto originally, you loose!
I agree with modifying the AT to hit your sweet spot, rather than switching to a manual.
Changing from an automatic to a manual will cost quite a bit more than $2K!
In fact, unless you have a core to trade for a rebuilt, you're lookngs at closer to 4 grand than 2. A used 6 speed plus all the other plumbing is an alternate but still far from cheap.
I completed an M6 to A4 swap earlier this summer. The parts costs are pretty similar either way (transmissions are roughly the same price, with a stick car you would have a clutch instead of a convertor).
The only way to do the conversion on the cheap is to find someone willing to exchange their parts for an opposite swap.
Buying new parts expect to spend $6,000 - $8,000 by the time all is said and done.
