I checked my 2001 coupe's oil this weekend (3300 miles), and the dipstick showed the level just below the fill line. I added a half quart of 5w30 Mobile 1. Now my oil preasure gauge reads a little over 40psi at cruse and over 60 during hard acceleration.
Is this ok, or is the dipstick reading wrong and too much oil is now in the crankcase?
Greg-
Here is my story about oil pressure. Brand new, my oil pressure was 17-18 warm at idle. Since then, and since my first oil change, using the Ultraguard Gold filter, my warm idle pressure is around 37, and 60-80 cold cruising. I wouldn't worry about it too much. I think the range is something like 8-85. Hope this helps.

With all of the talk regarding the 2001 dipstick not reading the right level, along with many C5's tendancy to burn oil, it is a real pain trying to figure out when you have too little (or in my case too much) oil in the crankcase.
Next time I get it changed, I'll check the level and use that as a benchmark.
