Default A/C Display Dim - Help?

Man, found the step by step oil sensor instructions that are great. This forum is awesome, so thought I would try another one.

I have a 98 C5 with 100k miles. Very clean car but I have noticed lately that the display in the AC panel is very dim. At night you can barely see it, and during the day it is completely black even with minimal glare. The A/C itself works fine no problem. Just the display is gone.

Anyone have an idea on this one. I don't have any tools to read codes, but I can go to my local mechanci who is very good and old school if I need to get e readout.

Common problem. I had mine repaired from a guy on ebay. I think his name was digitalguy1 and the repair was around $60. Have to take your unit out, send it to him, he fixes it then he sends it back.

Do a search here. their is a good write up on how to fix it yourself by re-soldering the connections inside.

I've done it... worked great...cost me $15 for the iron, and $5 for the solder... and a lil of my time..

Default Need Pictures

Thanks Stairman. Sounds a little dicey, but I will give it a try. Did you find the little numbered resiters to appera damaged, or did you just desolder and resolder each one trial and error>

The pictures do not come throgh on my IE browser. Any chance you could just email me the pictures so I can get a better sense of it. If not, I can probalby figure it out.
