I Am Going To A 2 Mile Road Course With My C5 Of 9/30/05. Have 44,000 Miles On Brakes. Have Ordered Hawk Hp Plus Pads, Hi-temp. Brake Fluid, And New Front Rotors To Install This Weekend. I Am Getting Mixed Feed Back On This Plan. Some People Say Cross Drilled Rotors Are Bad Because They Eat Pads. Then They Say Don't Put Hawk Pads On New Rotors. Can I Get Some Feed Back?
order your rotors from Rockauto. They are $17 each and delivered to your house quickly. I have used those with normal brake pads all the way up to the Hawk DTC-70s that I run now.
The Hawk HP+ will be good for your first time out with stock tires. I used them for 2 or 3 HPDE events. When I moved to race slicks I moved up to the DTC-70s because the tires had better stopping power and thus I could take advantage of the DTC-70s.
glad to see you are changing fluid. Many people forget this step. You can order the Motive Pressure Bleeder and then it becaomes a one person job.
You can also go with some AC Delco C5 Rotors...I've heard of some local guys using them on the track with no complaint....they're throw aways at around $120.00 for a set of 4.
