Default New Corvette Owner, few questions

I just picked up a 98 convertible for 5k under blue book so it isnt perfect. I had a few questions on some parts for it.

First off the rear window isnt sealed all the way around on the soft top. Is this repairable or would a whole new top be needed? Its still held up by the straps, but not on the glass.

Second is the serpintine belt makes alot of noise but is new. I was told by one shop it was the lower ideler arm ($60) and the dealership that it was some other lower pully that needed ths sub-frame take off ($1000) any ideas?

Also the oil pressure sensor is bad and is reading 130psi. The dealer said it was fine to drive, but since its behind the air filter I was looking at $350 to replace it.

Any ideas on if the top is repairable, belt, or if the oil pressure sensor needs to be done?

Thanks everyone!

Hopefully you got a good enough deal to be able to get all three items fixed. Nice looking car. Looks very familiar...You can silicone the window back in but it won't last more than a year or two. I am told Robbins Top is a good repalcement. Looks like you are in Cali or Fla? Fix the few problems and enjoy that thing...

Will the dealership re-silicone the back glass or should I take it to a body shop?

Default Belt Noise, Pulleys and Oil Pressure Sender

Go to SEARCH and there are several posts on these issues. They are quite common on older C5s. All repairable. If you are handy around a car, these cars are terribly easy to work on. I'm a newbie and have done several repairs and mods to my '99 FRC using AllData. com and Forum suggestions as sources of good information. Also look at a site called LS1Tech.com. Lots of good stuff on LS1 issues. Save yourself some money and spend an evening seraching the forums. Get your hands dirty, it's fun.
