I have a 03 zO6 with a K&N intake and borla cat back exhaust. 405 hp is great but it's come to the point where I want more acourse. Here is what I want to do. I'm looking to get the East coast supercharging novi 2000 paxton super charger kit. At the same time i'm adding that I wanted to change the intake manifold and go to the 90mm throttle body. I'd also like to throw some headers on it to squeese a little more out of it. I don't want to go crazy, but just make it a about 100- 150 more hp to the wheels. My questions are for the intake manifold and 90mm throttle body which brand should I go with thier are a bunch out there. Plus for the headers, LG motorsports sells a street set and pro setup, they say they bolt up to the rest of your exhaust, no welding or grinding is this true. If that is so I want to go with the long tube pro set ? finally Will the intakemanifold, throttle body and headers work well the East coast superchargers kit?
O and also I forgot, since I'm doing these mods, is thier anything else I should do, or could do modification wise. Is there anything else that is typically done that I have left out ? New to the Ls1 engines still. thanks again Joel
well... if you are looking for 100-150 more HP, the blower alone will get you there. you should see 525rwhp with just the blower, 550+ w/LG's, and 575+ w/fast90mm...
at that point your motor will be a time bomb with a short fuse. as well as clutch, tranny, diff, out put shafts, etc.
id say do the blower... keep the power at 500-525rwhp, and save some $$$ for a new clutch $1000-2000., LPE out put shafts $700, and just hope nothing breaks.... i would only do the headers, intake, after you have done a forged motor and some drivetrain upgrades to hold the power.
