Default Front plate cover attatched how?

Does the front plate cover on just snap fit into place or are there bolts that hold it on? If there are bolts they are damn impossible to get to by looking at it.

Two phillips head screws, each about 5/8 inch long, as I recall

Yes. Two philips head screws at the bottom. Just about license plate holes away from each other. You have to use a very thin driver, but you can do it.
