Default Is my steering wheel worn out???

I have a 1999 with black interior, and I have been starting to notice that after I go for a drive there is something wrong with my hands. It feels like fiberglass bits are breaking off into my palms... like my palms will be white with lots of little red specs all over them. Has anyone had a similar problem to this? How much is it to buy a new wheel? It's starting to get really bad to where I feel like I need to wear gloves to drive because this can't be healthy for me. Please help!

Maybe the stitching is coming apart.

Maybe you are becoming allergic to your vette

By white and red I mean thats what my hands look like after a long drive, my hands are white but they're covered in little red specs under the skin like little blood blisters or something. My car is a 1999 Black/Black/Black Vert and the interior is 100% stock. The other info that I am thinking could be related to this is I am currently living in Las Vegas and my car is parked outside durring the day, so it constantly has the sun beating right onto the black leather wheel. I am thinking I just need to find a replacement stock wheel because I think sun damage has made it gritty or something. Also, my hands can tend to sweat when I am driving so maybe some water damage? I have no idea, has this not happened to anyone else in any kind of car with a leather sterring wheel??

I hope I am not becoming allergic to it, lol.

Sounds pretty serious to me. I had a buddy that had something similar to this from working in a fiberglass boat factory. He had to quit the job and move to another state.

Sounds like you need to get rid of that car immediately. How about 12 grand and I'll pick it up tomorrow?
