If you're going to get a "bulb swap kit" get the 3000k.
they're brighter than the 6000k kit. no matter which kit you get, be prepared to get flashed back for blinding oncoming cars.

Those prices are way too high. These guys can get a dual bulb hi/low kit for $300, and a low only kit for around $200.

Oops, forgot to paste:

The Fjr guys are pretty picky because they use their bikes for long trips, and reliability is very important.

So for C5 use it would be $600 and has anyone adapted the wiring to hook up to a C5?

Junk and illegal besides.

There is only one retrofit HID kit for the C5 worth considering.

i am going to disagree here... Yes, VetteHID may be a good, DOT approved, etc, but he ain't selling no more is he! and that kit costs damn near $1500, while a simple HID kit can cost merely $300 tops. They are actually not "junk" as you call it, they are quite an improvement over stock. I had these in my car for 1 month before installing C5R headlights to improve visibility even more!

4u2nvc5: i would not suggest buying the McCulloch brand. i bought a set liek that 3 yrs ago for my 96' suburban, it still works today, but i get a flickering of light every now and then. they are trying to ignite, but cannot... It has been a common problem (in the past, btu i dunno now). i would highly suggest Blinglights, he is a forum vendor. email him, jason@blinglights.com
he will take care of you. price will be 300 shipped, for whatever Kelvin rating kit you want. Personally, i like the 6000K b/c it a mix of good output with that bluish/purplish color. the 4300 is more white light and very high output in terms of lumens. i would not go any higher then 6K however...
if your dead set on either of your two options u listed, go with Philips, they are quality from the get go!
click on the link to pictures in my sig, i think pages 6 or 7 have pics to the HID install and output pics... feel free to pm me for more details. enjoy!

If you have euro lights, you only need one kit, and it'd be $200 or $300.

Illegal??? Man, there are so many things I could get in trouble for!

Have you read any of the threads in regards to brighter halogens or using HID's in the euro housings? It ranges from pretty good to acceptable. Not as good as projectors, but still okay. These bulbs also have a good metal cap on top to cut down on the blinding that affects most kits.

I believe they are 1k and now there is a sale on them, not 1500 bucks

yeah you get tons of light output by putting highbeams on too but it blinds all the other drivers, same with putting a hid kit into the factory housing...same exact concept

Polishdude: ur telling me VetteHID is back in business and he has supplied kits to ALL those people who have paid? i'll need to catch up on that thread then...

as for blinding people, no, you don't. if you can aim your head lights, it will not be an issue. i didn't aim my headlights after i put the HID kit in, and did not have a single person flash me. no joke. now, even when i put my HIDs into the C5R's, the light is controlled (ie projectors) and so there is a cutoff point where there is a ton of light below the line, but nothing above. are you aware of how projectors work. have you seen these in person. please do research before you go about making assumptions. like i posted above, click on my pics, i think page 6 or 7 has a ton of pics of my setup. there is one pic, from 50 ft away, u can see the cutoff on the wall. there is no way you cn blind people, unless they are only like 24" tall... but at that point, i think they got bigger problems then being blinded by my headlights...

I would love to get a set of the VetteHID lamps with HID's for the low and high beams....maybe even a bi-xenon in the inner lamp, and an extra HID setup in the outer lamp, and wired for both to be on when the highs are on....it'd be BRIGHT! Now where are those 55w HID kits that were on the market for a short time??

vette-hid was never the manufacturer of these lights, he was merely a vendor.

so while he has had issues with getting his kits to his customers, there are other vendors that are selling the same lights that are made by ACA.

see the recent posts by tbyrne and Nate from CG and you will find that they are still available.
