If any of you run your LS-1 with 6 speed manual on the 1/4 mile I'd be interested to know what gear you are in at the end of the run. I've been going into fourth in my '99 but are not at 100 mph and suspect I can go through in 3 rd. What is the rev limiter set at in these cars? They do have limiters don't they? I calculate 6000 rpm is 105 mph in 3 rd gear. Seems doable without blowing anything up. Opinions?
Thanks,
Vinny
I have a MN6 tranny and I cross in the top of 3rd beginning of 4th, I have a 6600 redline though and usually show a 113-114 trap (on an accelerometer). Stock should be limited around 6k and shouldn't hurt anything, they like to be abused every so often.....
I hit a 13.3 @ 108.2 mph ?? i believe id have to look at the time slip again.. my 60's sucked. But yea i shifted right into 4th before i crossed he finish line.
i hit 4th on the line, 13.03 in the 1/4 only mods are cold air intake and B&B bullets cat back. On run craps..I know i can be in the 12's with good rubber.

I always shifted to 4th somewhere between 5500 & 6000. I hit the rev limiter in 3rd about 200ft before the finish line and at that RPM you're past the power band of a stock engine, so you're better off shifting.
