Hey guys, I replaced my battery in my FOB, re-trained it and it quits working, it works right after you press the lock unlock button but now when I come back out it doesnt work, and I have to press lock unlock again.. any ideas......
Do a search, tons of people have this problem. I have it myself. Cleaning your chassis grounds is one way to try to fix it, another is to get a new FOB.
I have this problem. Brought it to the dealer twice. I eventually gave up. Once I get around to it i'll get an aftermarket system from ultimate electronics. Dealer told me not to go to best buy.

The factory FOB is a poor product....many, many of these units have stopped working properly. About 3 years ago I junked the factory unit in favor of the Clifford system. It has performed flawlessly. It has a much longer range....almost 100 yards. I put the Clifford FOB on my night stand and will immediately know if anyone touches my car. I have their backup battery which provides many additional hours of operation should the battery wires be cut or fail. Its a great system....well worth the money.
What is involved with getting a Clifford key fob. I will be getting a 2000 hatchback soon, and it seems they are unique, and harder to replace. Is there something else to buy besides the fob itself?

The Clifford system replaces the entire factory alarm system.... I got sooooo frustrated with the factory unit not staying in sync....nothing I did made much of a difference.
Had 2 fobs go bad. 1 completely dead the other would work and resynch for a few minutes. Bought replacements on ebay for 50 to 70 dollars. Both now work as designed. No resyncing just push the button and lock or unlock. Why spend a fortune on aftermarket systems if you need a new FOB? PS if your battery is marginal and gets below 9 volts the fobs may lose sync until you resync them.
