Brake Fluid
I am planning on getting the Motive Pressure Bleeder just because I am certain this will make the job easier at the loss of the family brake bleeding sessions, which were soo much fun and because I have other cars that should have their brake fluid replaced as well.
I have been using Castrol GT LMA DOT 3 and 4 brake fluid. I use this because it doesn't absorb moisture from the air as much as other brake fluids do.
Should I use this in my C5 ?? I'm sure there are better fluids out there but what ?? I do not race my C5 so I'm pretty sure the Castrol will be fine, my C5 is pretty much stock.
Thanks
You will be fine with the Castrol. I use to use Valvoline SynPower High Performance Synthetic Brake Fluid Dot3/Dot4 before I went to racing brake fluid. I also changed the clutch fluid while I am doing the brakes.
The Motive pressure bleeder is great. It is easy to use. Take out all the old fluid out of the reservoir and replace with new fluid. apply the pressure bleeder and pump to about 12lbs of pressure. Then go to the back passenger side and crack open the bleeder. When you see the new stuff close it off and the go to driver side.
Just make sure you dont run out of fluid in the reservoir and the pressure of the motive doesn't drop. Very simple, easy and clean if you do it this way.
