A friend of mine has a 2001 Z06. He is located in Maimi. Recently, he just put in an X-pipe and removed the pup cats on his car. Not a big deal...BUT, they put the X pipe on right where the pipes come down from the manifolds and left the stock H-Pipe in. I've never heard or seen anything like this? When I put my x pipe in, they put it in place of the stock H Pipe. COuld something like they did be better or worse than just the Xpipe alone??? He did gain about 10rwhp on the dyno from stock exhaust to the modded exhaust. I don't see it hurting, but could it???
I did the same thing and I have a friend that did also. The reason we left the H-pipe in when we had the X-pipe installed was for ease of tip alignment. It shouldn't make one whit of difference in performance if the H-pipe is left in when having an X-pipe installed, IMHO. Once the gases have passed through the X-pipe you should have in-phase pulses passing through both exhaust pipes. The H-pipe serves no function in this case.

I just witnessed a situation where the X-pipe caused a loss of hp. I am now doubting, if replacing the H-pipe with an X-pipe is the right decision. My dyno seems a little low, is it the X-pipe??????????

Awaiting more testing!
Do you know what brand X-pipe was used? Not all X-pipes are created equal.
This is a A4 not a M6, I think the numbers are a little low. I think they should read 323 rwhp and 328 rwtq! I want to go back to where I had my base dyno, I then should hit those numbers. But they are just numbers, the proof of the pudding is at the track!
