A/C Clutch noise help needed..
Sorry it's on my beater 93 Nissan.
I have a blown clutch bearing. It makes a noise to wake the dead. I isolated the noise last week by pulling the belts till I got it down to the clutch. When I spin the clutch by hand it makes noise.
The A/C works perfectly and don't want to get into a $600-800 job just to fax a bad bearing. I ordered a new bearing from Carpart.com for $30.
Here is my question..If I replace just the clutch bearing, I know it will take care of the noise when it is free spinning. But will it also take care of the noise when it's engaged?????
I was thinking...If the clutch is engaged then the bearing is not spinning anymore??? Is so then where is the noise coming from when it's engaged???
