Anything else I should replace along with water pump?
Under the car, anti freeze.
I was like..well..there go the headers I wanted to buy. So this is probably dropping on the belts, causing the squeaks, I'm guessing. Water Pump mebbe. But, before I go "yar...git r done", I wanted to ask those that have been through something similar...thier thoughts.
Anything else I should do while that's getting done under there? She's got almost 70K on her, some of it at WOT, so this hasn't been a wimpy daily driver!
Any replacements/upgrades to components I should be looking at? timing belt? etc?
Thanks.
Damn..I wanted those headers too.

As for the tensioners...that I'm not understanding. I've not heard of people having issues with those..have they? And yes Connecticut, I stand corrected.
And as for the prices..someone said <250 bought and installed? Damn..I need to find a new place to get work done.

It may well be the gaskets. But with 70K on the car, If you've got to go in there. I'd rather go in once and not twice, you know what I mean?
Actually the one thing I was really wondering was if I should replace the timing chains...but I havent heard anyone even mention that.
Yeah..Nunally Chevrolet up here is talking 280 in labor alone. I think I'm going to a local Pontiac shop...service has been good there so far..and prices are definitely cheaper.

Once that's out of the way you just unclamp the hoses from the pump (4 of them) and pull out 6 bolts, if I remember correctly.
Seriously, this is a job that a novice DIY person could do with the right pliers, a screwdriver, a 10mm socket, some ratchet extensions, and a torque wrench.
Anyone who has worked on a Corvette before should be able to do this job in an hour easily. Be sure they really are charging you $280 just for labor. If so, they are ripping you off.

Oh, and please just download the data once and save it to your computer. Don't cross link this to other forums. I don't want my hosting account to run out of juice.
Thanks.
