Strange „click“-sound when alternating load
I do have a problem with my 2002 C5 A4 Coupe (3.15 rear end).
First it started on a very irregular basis when shifting form “N”eutral to “D”rive or “R”everse. During these circumstances I got a SINGLE “CLICK” – noise which could only be heart with the windows down.
Now I get this SINGLE “CLICK” nearly every time I alter the throttle from idle position (for example rolling 25mph in 2nd at idle then opening the throttle to 30% - one single click). This metallic sounding click can only be heart with the windows down / top down.
It is very hard to locate, however, at least I suppose so, it might come from the rear part of the driveline.
Any ideas?
Thanks’ in advance,
Johannes
