hi, my keyless entry stopped working... i changed the battery in the remote and tried reprogramming it with the computer, but still nothing :-( Is there an internal battery in the vette besides my car battery that can be changed? or any ideas whats going on ?
The battery in the car provides the power to the RFA (Remote Function Actuator) which is the radio receiver that "listens" for the signal from your key fobs. You should fill out your profile so we can see what model Vette you have.
Does your car have tire pressure sensors? If so, and they are working, then the RFA is working correctly as it also receives the signals from the tire sensors. Have you checked for codes in the car? If no codes thrown, then the problem is in the key fobs themselves.
i have a 98 vette, and no, the tire sensors don't work. I was told it was because of the new z06 rims and tires that were put on? Also... i get the following codes...
P0522 Engine Oil Pressure Sensor Circuit Low Voltage
Right and left door control modules have U1064 H Loss of Communications with BCM
The service manuals I have are for a 2001 and don't have a diagnostic listed for the code you're showing. Possibly someone with a 1998 manual can look up the diagnostics for a C2120. I can't tell if that's a failed RFA or simply a warning that the RFA is not get signals from ANY tire pressure sensor.
