I need an electronic brake control module and a brake pressure modulator valve. Problem is I don't know what numbers are compatible. Does it have to have the same exact numbers and what numbers to go by. Please Help ASAP. Thanks everyone.

EBCM is 12208997. list price. $1,053.58
BPMV is 10343432. list price. $1,711.76.
If needed I can save you significant $$$ on these. PM if interested.
BTW; The EBCM is 2001 only, but the BPMV is 2001-2001. Z06 included.
Not to steal the Thread.
What were the codes that came up with this problem?
Barrier
Didn't check. I took my car to Midas and had new drilled and slotted rotors and pads put on. I had them check it, because the light was on and the guy that sold me the car said it needed new pads and that's why the light was on.

PM'd you. I'm confused and I'm sorry, but I have to ask what BTW stands for?

I would not trust Midas as far as I could throw them when it comes to electrical diagnoses. Chances are the car needs one or the other, but probably not both. It is easier for them to throw all parts at it and hope that it fixes it.

You did not ask this question, but in my opinion MIdas is not the "go to guys" for this diagnostics and repair. I would suggest verification of their assesment by a shop/mechanic with a history of vette experience before you plunk down the $$s.
Can't I run a test to check the codes? Don't you have to put the key in and push a button on the DIS? Will it check this and if so how do I do it or how should I search for the instrutions?

C1214 in the 2001 Service Manual calls for several steps in the diagnostic:
1) Install scan tool and clear all DTC's from EBCM
2) Perform automated test from scan tool
3) IF C1214 returns, disconnect the pump motor harness pigtail connector from the BPMV
4) Measure resistance between each pump motor control curcuit and the housing of the BPMV at the pigtail connector of the BPMV. All circuits should show Open Loop
If all circuits are open ... replace only the EBCM
If one or more circuits have resisistance, replace both the EBCM and the BPMV.
5) Clear all DTC codes and re-run scan tool diagnostic
6) No codes should re-appear.

I would personnally recommend you find somewhere other than Midas to get this done ... dealer, auto repair shop that deals with GM vehicles, or best, a shop that handles Corvettes. One way to find out how much GM work they do is to see if they have a Tech2 scan tool, as this is the device GM recommends for work on the Corvette.

Thanks, there is a guy that is suppose to be Corvette certified at my Pontiac dealer. My friend is the service manager at the Mitsubishi dealer ship and he told me about this guy. Might be less than having Bill Heard do it.
