OBD software protocol
Seems like most "scanners" do just that. They dont allow for us normal folks to do what is in the service manuals, i.e., direct a module to do a task or look at the status of an indicator.
If someone had that, a software package could be made that would talk to the OBD hardware and do this for us for a lot less that a Tech 2 scanner would cost (~$3k).
As an alternate plan if no one has access to this, would someone be willing to loan a tech 2 so the protocol could be reverse engineered??
I think there would be a lot of interest in this, just need some info, time and hardware.
