Service Traction Control
A buddy of mine owns a 2001 and the Service Traction Control and ABS light is turning on. Took it to the dealer they dont know what is causing this malfunction to occur. The codes are as following: P1571, P1689; C1277, C1288. I told him I would post this information and ask for help. Thanks in advance.

I'm having the same problem and getting the C1214 (I think) code thrown at me. It only shows up about once a week, and disappears the next time I start the car. It was a history code when I bought the car so I think it's been an ongoing problem. I think I'm going to check all the body grounds while it's garaged this winter sometime. I really just hope the module isn't going out.

When I had this problem it took days to figure out the cause, lucky for me the car was under warranty, because the problem would disappear(i.e, the light would go off) after the car was shut down for a few hours and reappeared after about 7 miles. It turned out that the problem was in a short in the steering wheel column. Hope this helps
