I have a 97 and i just bought a used headlight motor for the pass. side due to my other one running when lights went down...i installed today and after i did i had buzzing noises coming from fuse box and more importantly when i turned on the lights the driver side would go up and the pass. side would go down, when i turned the lights off the pass side would go up and the driver side would go down??? any help would be appreciated.
secondly i just did trans/clutch in same car and all of the sudden my service ride control light comes on? any ideas what this could be caused by or how it could be fixed? i already went back and checked all the wires they are in good condition and everything is connected?
also how can i tell if i have the f51 suspension? i have a **** on the console that allows me to change ride control from tour-sport-performance? ive seen vettes that do and a lot that dont just curious?

You have the F-45 real time dampening suspension. I have the same option. The shocks are electronic and have a connection to a computer in the car. There are also sensors that have an arm attached to the the lower control arm that measures movement. During the work on your car one of the shock conections or sensor conections could have come loose. You will also get this error if the car detects a shock failure. The shocks are very expensive. If the F-45 system detects a fualt the car usually goes into reduced power mode or limits the maximum speed.
If none of the above works then I would take it to a Vette mechanic that is familiar with the F45 system. It can be a real PIA to trouble shoot this system because of all the electronics.
Thanks for that, i know that there was a loose connector on one of the shocks that i plugged back in but the message didnt go off. i will probably take this problem to the dealer when i get a day off. Thanks for the help though, at least it clarifies some of the possible problems.
THANK YOU! ive heard about being able to do this but i never could find out how...also for anyone else, i did get my headlight situation fixed, i just had the lever on the gear turned 180 degrees. Thanks again for anyone that provided me with any help!
