Help!!! Fuel Leak Help!!!
Ok I smelled gas around the car the other day but was unsure if it was the car or the lawn mower. Well its the car. I took it out last night and after a short distance smelled gas inside the car pretty bad. Drove about 15 miles round trip and the gas gauge moved about 1/4 of a tank. The smell is worse with the car running so I am thinking on the pressure side plus it doesn't seem to be loosing gas while sitting off. The smell is also worse around the driver's side rear wheel. Any suggestions as to how to look for a fuel leak? This is a new one for me.

If it's from pressure and near the rear driver's wheel, I would suspect the fuel filter. It's mounted up on the frame right behind it. I could be clogged. How many miles since last changed? Also, there are nylon pressure fittings that hold the fuel pipe in, one of them may be damaged.

Change the filter. I just had this happen a few months ago. Take your time and do it right. Be sure to lube the o rings in the new filter. Post here if you have problems, we can help...
