How do you know if the 2/3 is going..?

But it feels very sluggish...
Like its kinda lugging when it shifts...
Now here's the thing...
My ET's are NOT slower & MPH is NOT slower..
However, SOTP "tells" me something is not right..
This thing is just not shifting, quick, crisp, firm..
I know I'm not imagining this..
Am I?? without reduced 1/4 mile speed & times.....????

I just can't believe I'm not seeing any slow down in speed or ET..
I guess someone's going to have to drive my car to feel what I'm talking about..
Any chance it's time for a fluid change? How many passes on the current hardware and fluid?

I know the feeling you are referring to. I get it at the track, the 2-3 seems to drag out, not a quick switch like the 1-2.

Actually I 've never been too thrilled with this tranny from the get go...
I've had the vacuum pressure checked out etc, & spoke to
Chuck @ FLT(P) when I first got it about how "soft" the shifts were..
Lexus smooth.. I barely felt em, even @ WOT...
Changed the converter, (initially had a bad one), but the soft shifting remained....
Needless to say, I am not a fan of the vacuum modulated tranny, although all the posts I read on it were 1000% positive.. Everyone who has the FLP Level IV were extatic.
I just never was...
But now, the 2-3 is kinda "sliding".. in there...
Really takes it time.. Its very noticable,, but like I said, no black & white figures to indicate something is amiss..
Here's what was said on another forum:
"Actually you could be right it may be in the early stage of failing. a slight slide into 3rd rather than a bump might not affect your times in and easily measurable way . but if the 3-4 clutch is sliding it it wont be long before it does have a big effect"
&
"If you think something is going on... drop the pan and take a look. Maybe your 3-4 clutch is starting to go or the band. When the transmission makes a 2-3 shift the band must release and the 3-4 clutch must apply. You could also be having a tie up with one circuit or the other. "
