Default Replacing A/C belt help.

Replacing the serpentine is a piece of cake but I am having trouble with the A/C belt. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting the A/C belt on, without growing an extra hand?

hmmm...I did it at the same time as serpentine belt....it was pretty easy since it has the tensioner also....maybe my hands are just smaller

I've heard that it can be tricky if you have an auto, apparently there's some extra lines in the way on autos, believe someone suggested taking a clip off that's in the way and threading the socket in between the lines if that's the problem you are running into.

Yes, it is an automatic and the extra lines are a lot of the problem. Clip is off and lines can be spread to reach the tensioner but it is still difficult to thread the belt into the correct position while compressing the tensioner.

When I did mine I had trouble with it because it seemed as though the belt was too small. Seems the trick is when the tensioner stops moving, that is the time to really lay into it, and it will move a bit farther and the belt will slip on.
