I can't find the connector to install the CAGS bypass. In fact, I'm not sure I'm even finding the transmission!? Argh! I've looked at pictures and read posts and I still can't find it. Right now my car is up on Rhino ramps.
Can anyone please post detailed instructions and/or pics on how to find the CAGS connector? Maybe start from the oil pan 'cuz that is a good landmark for me. I'm no mechanic so the simpler, the better.
The trans is in the back ;) The soliniod is on the left side of the trans about 1/2 way up with a 2 wire connector. The soliniod is about the shape of a "D" battery...
Don't have pics...but if you look forward from the rear of your car the differential reats on top of the cast aluminum crossmember. (your wheels and tires are attached to each side of it) Just in front of the cross member you will see the trany pan..it's square and says " caution, check fluid hot" or something like that. Just in front of the trany is the housing for the torque converter. Not sure where the CAGS bypass goes...but the wire hrness is on the drivers side of the trany. Sorry if this is not much help, but I would need to know what the CAGS bypass is to be of further help.
Thanks to everyone for the help! CAGS is now gone on my Vette. Turns out the main problem finding the CAGS connector was that the car wasn't lifted high enough for me to squeeze under to where the tranny is. It's farther back than I thought. A little jacking up of the back and... no problemo!
At least Kevman was honest about not knowing what to look for. The bottom of the car doesn't look like any other car I've seen, all that balsa wood covered by smooth panels. The only thing I could identify was the oil filter.
