Thanks John, thats all I need. Just getting my bearings to do a C5 upgrade/double checking basic sizes. My stock fronts are 13 with 12" rear also........
C4 guys don't really bother trying to put on the C5 rear rotors because there is nothing really to be gained and you'll have to redo your parking brake. On the front the C5 rotors are thicker than the J55 (13") C4 rotors. Also the brake pads have a larger contact (swept area) than the C4 pads. Would suspect that C5 calipers are a little stronger also, but can't imagine by much since the construction appears to be very similar.
By the way I had a '94 that I did the C5 front brake conversion on and it was a great improvement, but then again I had the base 12" rotors and factory pads on there.
Also the brake pads have a larger contact (swept area) than the C4 pads.
I was wondering if there was more pad contact area and beginning to wonder how their could be improvement for me, I have 13" rotors on front already, yet other ZRoners say "big improvement". Must be contact area alone doing it.
