How sensitive is your "Low Oil Level?"
When I am down about a 1/4 to a 1/2 quart I consistently get this message on the DIC. It usually happens right around 2500 after an oil change. Is this really necessary?......or is it just a pre-caution? WIth my Z28, I wouldn't have even noticed if it was down that little of an amount! Just curious :D!

The dip stick is the source of actual oil readings. The DIC warning can be triggered by shutting down the car when the oil is hot and the car is in a nose-down or nose-up attitude on a grade. Once the message occurs, I find I need to park the car on level ground over night, during which the oil cools to ambient temp. If I do this, the LOW OIL message disappears.

It is funny.. I have 38,000 miles on my car.. I've done 10 or 11 oil changes since new.. twice since new I received a low oil message... it was oil change 4 and five around the 12000 to 15000 range.. I have not recieved that message since..
