No problems so far. Just had it installed on Wednesday last week. Nice and firm feel. Doesn't seem stiff to me, of course I wanted it for performance shifting, so I guess it meets my expectations. I also drove a member's Vette with a Ripper prior to my decision to get one for myself.
The Kirban we started carrying is easier to shift, and one would think that the road racing guys who shift constantly on the track, would like it better.
We've sold many B&M's and have heard some stories of rough shifting but not popping out of gear.
I have a B&M it is really stiff, but I think the Momo **** I have makes it alot easier to shift with. I tried a guys Kirbin that he had in his vette. It was pretty smooth. But, now I like my B&M I built up some muscles :seeya

C5Chicky brought up a good point. I forgot to mention that I have a , Billet Aluminum Shift Ball on my Ripper and that the Vette (w/Ripper) I test drove also had a custom **** that was shorter than the factory ****.
viper, if its popping out og gear, then you probably installed it without adjusting the stops for each gear. it should have the adjustable stops on it.
i just installed a kirban shifter and it is perfect, positive etc. not too hard ,and smooth. :yesnod:
I've read (a few months back) on here about people who have cut the springs in their B&M Ripper. Seemed to make it easier to shift for them. No experience here. Anyone else know about this/how to do it correctly?
There are no stop adjustments on the B&Ms. I installed mine almost a year ago and have had zero problems.
When you installed the shifter, did you make sure that the centering adjustment was made using the small pin from the stock shifter? If you didn't check this alignment it is possible the shifter is not in the correct position and this could cause the car to jump out of gear. To make the adustment loosen the bolts holding the shift mechanism in place. Move the shifter forward or backward until you can get the pin into the alignment hole in the front. Now torque down the bolts and remove the pin. Hopefully, the problem will be solved.
No problems with my Ripper... it is a precise piece of machinery..after driving my friends stock stifter C5 .. it is so nice to go back to my Ripper.. the stock shifter seems so cheap..after driving with the B&M
I posted my experiences modding the ripper a few months back. I bought different springs from a hardware store and went to work testing them out. The best combo for me was a stiffer than stock spring on one side and an weaker than stock spring on the other. That way it was harder to shift twords first yet very easy to fly through the other gears. I was catching second a few times and I wanted to make it harder to do so. So far no problems and I love the easier shifting from 3rd to 6th.
Moundir, you have a habbit of always being with stupid. :yesnod:
