Default Need help finding list of THREADED C5 shift *****...

Well, I've trashed 2 Momo ***** and the set screws are messing up the threads on my B&M Ripper pretty bad now.

I'd really ike to find a nice Billet solid piece and see a list of all THREADED solid ***** out there. I know Xtreme has the A&O billet pieces. If I could get one NOT engraved I might do that. Black would be nice. Silver too. But I'd like to see something with a bit more style.. I know I saw a link to a baton style supposed C5R type **** in the last couple days..

Anyone who knows of a TRUE C5 ****, please post here!!
No Universal set screw (MoMo) types plz!

Thx,

Ohh!! Got lucky.. Remembered the Voodoo line...

What ch'all think? http://www.teamvoodoo.com/Voodoo/*****.html

Want a round ****. Dunno whether:
spun, polished, smooth black powder coat, textured ("crinkle") powder coat, or pearl (clear powder coat spun)....

Open to other TRUE **** suggestions too.

I'm matching to a Carbon Fiber/Black Interior.

Thx!

I have the Billet Polished 6-Speed Shifter **** manufactured by Kirban Performance Products on my Ripper. It rocks and looks really mean!!!

I really like it. They make it with or without the pattern. I researched what Ferrari and Lamborghini do with their gated shifter *****, and it turns out they also put the pattern on the ball. So, that's the one I bought.

Check it out:

West Coast Corvettes is working on a billet aluminum brake handle and door trim, so I'm hoping to purchase and install those once they're released (assuming of course that they look good). :yesnod:

I'm pretty sure the C5R stype one you're referring to is Hardbar's turned Delrin ****. I've seen one, and it's about the lowest on the shift lever you can get, as well as not being slippery. If I had a stick, that's what I'd have. It's white and pretty plain though, so if you're into looks, they aren't that appealing. Function over form on that one.

Thanks, Here's a Delrin link I found: http://www.hardbar.net/hardbar_shifter_knob.htm

Hey Targa!
Yours looks similar to the Voodoo's that I'm leaning towards.
Anyone have the Flameball link? Are they true C5 threaded type *****??
Everyone told me I'd go to true threads over MoMo someday. They were right. Hope my shifter threads are still ok.

I'm thinking about getting a cheap $10 flameball in plain black. I just want something simple and I dont want to pay $50 for it.

Use red loktite. I use the thread locker loktite and it holds it very nice. I have the flameball. I saw it on RAT's car & loved it. It's held up very well consider the way I drive! :blueangel:

How does the flameball attach on the C5? Does it thread on and use a jam nut below it? Do you have to install any thread adapter?

Eric (seriously considering a flameball  )

I'm leaning towards this one: http://www.billetballs.com/mf_111000.jpg

Thanks!

Might want to look at Flameball--Abstract, does not light up, no wiring, all colors and about 2.25 inches in diameter. It feels great, never hot or cold.

I used Teflon Tape to hold tight, but it's still easy to remove whenever I want to try something different. :yesnod:

MelloYellow,
Here is a not so good pic of the standard polished VooDoo. I also
have a polished/black powder coated that has never been used.
Neither has any engraving. Would sell for $25 ea. and include
shipping. Drop me an email if interested.

I replaced the VooDoo with a padded Momo (Super Anatomico),
just tired of bruising my palm on the 2 to 3 shift. Now...I have
a loose Momo and slam my knuckles into the dash going into 3rd.:mad
May just go back to stock for a while or learn to lighten up a bit.

Specialty Engineering 209-874-1085

I had one of their ***** as well. Very nice stuff. No better quality
than VooDoo but, because of the designs, probably nicer looking. IMO

No nut. Just remove old shift ****, then if you want the flameball to light up, wire it to the traction control device, that way, you can use the dimmer to dim the flameball. Use loktite to hold it in place & no problem.

Thanks everybody!!

I decided on Specialty Engineering STE and their Custom Billet *****.
VERY Nice stuff. True threaded 9/16" x 18 for our C5.

Here is a link. I had the interior holes that run top to bottom painted Gloss Black. The effect should help match my Carbon Fiber interior. This one isn't painted inside the holes. http://www.billetballs.com

Total cost was about $100 with the interior painting. Check out their other painted *****. VERY cool.

1 Question left. I measured my B&M Ripper thread. The threads measure 1.5" long. The top 7/8" of my threads are perfect. The manufacturers said the race shops only use 3/4" of thread normally and it is plenty. I was thinking I'd only have it threaded about 3/4-7/8". But the top of the ripper thread is not a whole bar. Will that much thread be enough?

Normally I'd be ok, but the top of the shaft is notched/split, eh?
Hmm.. K, called them. They say the notch is ok. Is for the Shifter.
3/4" Thread on the notched should be ok.
Whatcha'll think?

Hell.. I'm gonna pick up a die at Ace Hardware to clean up the threads. WTF... ;)

C3 and C4 shift ***** aslo fit (9/16 X 18 thread). Mid- america sells C3 type shifters for $20. They're smaller than the commonly available ones and don't look so overstated. I have a black 68 **** and love it. Its threads are recessed so the shift throw is shortened for faster shifting. Locktite holds it on great.
