Depends on what they are made out of and what is in the guts. I have Corsa Indy exhaust and SLP long tube headers - all stainless. Hooker used to make a really good set of headers back in the 60's - 80's but then went through a Chrysler mode and just turned out mediocre products. I have always believed that you get what you pay for and - SPEED COSTS.
Hooker are not stainless, but should last at least 10years and the sound very good and flow great... I had a hooker aeroflow muffler on my truck, deep nice tone..
Thanks, It is the tone I am looking for, I could care less about the claimed 10 horsepower. I just want a nice deep tone, with no resonation at highway speeds.

I have it, and like it!
I first installed (on the ground, rear of the car jacked to the fluorescent lights in the garage!) an SLP loudmouth. This system is WAY too loud for me. I went back to stock. Bored with stock again I went to the Hooker system. It has a good low tone, is loud outside with no drone or noise inside my Vert. It does "cackle" on deacceleration. It is not stainless and is clamped together, but for the money (half the price of others) it does a fine job. I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't want to spend the $K plus for the more popular cat backs.
The B&B route 66 has a deep tone and no resonance...
ttt
I agree too as I have them (with headers,x-pipe and cam. And they sound even deeper ) but screw991le was asking opinions from folks that have the Hookers. For the money I was always curious as well.
Does anyone have a sound clip or vid of the Hooker cat-back exhaust?
I (like so many others) am interested in a nice deep tone, not too much resonance & a real growl at WOT.
Ones that I have been checking out are the Magnaflow full exhaust, GHL, Borla's & the Hooker cat-back... Price is not my motive...nice deep sound is the key. I'm not interested in my C5 sounding like a truck with glass packs...Any suggestions?
I had the hooker aero's on my 96 GMC truck. I previously had flowmaster 40's on the truck and that was just too loud. The aeros were a tad quieter and gave a little bit of the low end torque back. They aren't stainless, but some of the pieces inside are.
these are still avail, i called tonight 365.99 must be paid in full at the counter, and you will recieve in 2-3 days at the store. ordering mine tomorrow, this is a site for the sound .
hey, why don't you try what the guys have shown us on this forum. take your stock muffler and add the by-pass pipe on it. it looks like a great set-up, personnally, I went to the Borla Stingers, and I love them, drone? it's all noise to me, but if you want a quiet car then I would suggest a Caddie.......bob.
