Default Oil Pan Help!

Ok very weird thing has happen. I have a oil leak on the back side of the motor. Thought it was the rear main, but the 2 small bolts that are on the bottom (right near the bottom bell housing) were loose. I tried to tighten them up, but it would not tighten. Threads looked fine on bolts so its stripped out. Weird??? how do I take the oil pan out? Thanks for the info!

I would investigate tapping the treads first. You should be able get a decent tap and die set at most automotive or hardware store. Maybe go one or two sizes over. good luck

Are you talking about the long bolts that hold the pan to the rear cover?

Thought so. Mine wouldnt tighten so I bought 2 new bolts and it worked.. but i replaced the cover 2 weeks later when I did the rear main seal.

I would try a new bolt wrapped with thread tape and see if it works
