Must have happened parking too close to a curb, but I didn't even feel it. My right front high polish rim got part of the lip (outer most edge of the wheel) pretty mangled. It did not touch the smooth polished part just below the lip and only about 1/4 of the wheels edge is messed up.
Has anyone been able to have this kind of damaged fixed? Can it be ground down slightly and polished with a dremel? How much is a new high polish 17" wheel?
It's no problem to fix this kind of 'curb assaults'
We have 3 companys in Sweden working only with repairing damaged wheels. If we have 3 companys in a small country like Sweden where must be several in a large country as the US.
I had my misfortune a dark night last autumn coming around a corner at high speed and did not see the curb surrounding a busstop that was about a feet out in my lane. I hit badly with right front/rear damaging the outer rim severly (wheel edge was pushed in about a inch) on both wheels. I thought it was goodbye to my $1300 a piece Fikse wheels. I took the wheels to a company in Stockholm and they made the wheels round again, aluminum welded all cracks, polished the wheels and now it's not possible to see any difference from a new wheel.
Try searching the web or look in the Yellow Pages (I found the company in the Yellow Pages) Good luck !
