Default Rear Hatch Release

On our 98 coupe the rear hatch release and the fuel door release do not operate from the internal switches.

The rear hatach will open with the FOB and the fuel door opens when the cord in the rear hatch is pulled but not from either internal switches. Is there a fuse that controls both of these items?

Thought would be appreciated.

These two items are controlled by the BCM. Since the remote can pop the hatch, the two BCM fuses are OK. Two possibilities : 1) The connector at the BCM is bad (or the wires to the release switches) 2) A defect in the BCM which can prevent the BCM from sensing the switch closures, but allow the hatch release to work thru the remote.
