Has anyone ever blown a motor or had a motor run too rich that it ruined a catback exhaust? Is there a limit to the amount for burned oil or residue that would destory a exhuast????
I don't know if I understand your question but the only thing that might kill an exhaust/cat back exhaust might be a lot , of violent back firing ,, or if the system is not stainless or high quality aluminized, it might rust out due to short trips and excessive condensation build up. this said,, I haven't heard of very many failures of these parts. and I would guess that a catback would more than likely make a vehicle run lean instead of rich, that is as long as their are no air leaks around the oxygen sensors. I say go get your cat back and enjoy.

Sorry, I will try ask my question better.....
I have seen some used TI Z06 systems for sale in the past that have more "soot" and oil residue in them than I would normally expect to see and I was wondering if someone had blown a motor through them if that would affect the exhaust.
