i noticed a couple drops on the garage floor the last couple of days. i jacked it up and checked it out further. There was a small drop on the trans pan and it looked a little mosit. The moisture seems to be just on the pan, and a little on the front of the diff. I checked where both of the axels come out of the diff, but they looked good. Is this the o-ring that people have been mentioning. I searched quite a bit and couldn't find anything. Your help would be appreciated. Should I take it to a local trans shop and have em look at it. I don't want to take it to the dealer and pay em like 78 dollars an hour. What should I do and what could this be.
I put a pint of Prestone ATF sealer in mine (for rear seal leak). It use to leave a trail of ATF as I backed down the driveway (20+feet!). The rear crossmember was covered too. Seems the ATF would collect between the AT & rear end overnight and would drain when the vette was moved.
Just purchased the vette last Dec. Maybe it wasn't driven enough before, but it doesn't leak now. I was fretting a $700 repair to have it done or roll up my sleeves and get at it myself. But it's dry now. I just rigged up a funnel to pour it down the cooler line by the radiator (not the fastest way to fill!).
