Stock C5... Quick Hit Performance Mods...
Looking to increase horsepower/performace on my stock C5 auto... budget is limited so I am looking for suggestions on first steps. Intake? Exhaust? Tune?

Don't know how much you wanna spend? But for a start Cold air intake, around $350 maybe a 3 to 5hp gain, or catback, they cost around $600 on up to around $1,100, that may get you another 5 or so HP.
And you can add headers, they can cost as much as $1800.
All the above mods will add around 30 to 40 HP and a tune should be a must.

Let me put my flame suit on.
Here is what I have done with good results and on a budget.
shorty ceramic headers 400.00 installed myself bought on CF
replacing cats with straight pipe (free) will install myself Friday (thanks Chris)
zip tie mod (free)
kirban shifter 85.00 bought on CF
delrin shifter **** 35.00
exhaust mod 40.00
c5 z06 sway bars and metal end links 200.00 bought on CF
c6 z06 shocks 200.00 - Beans
replaced bose system, had everything from another car except speakers, 300.00
There will be lots of folks who will chime in on the headers etc., that they are a waste. I respect everyone’s opinion. the bottom line, I am quite pleased with what I have done so far, at a good price and more importantly it works for me. Made a great car even better. Just presenting an alternative approach. Good luck on your mods.
