We are in the process of installing these headers and cannot get the passenger side down from the top. As the pictures show, we have taken the valve covers off and positioned the air tube out of the way. The AC line is not making things easy for us. We have not losened the starter since to does not appear to be in the way. Any insight to getting the darn things to drop in ....
Both sides go in from the bottom. You may have to loosen the starter. Disconnect the negative battery terminal before you loosen the starter in case you have to go ahead on take the start all the way off. Just don't take the starter wires off and before you start bolting up the header after you get it past the starter and into position, bolt the starter back up and then finish bolting up the header.
It will be tight on jackstands but if you have decent ones that go high enough you might make it.
I have never had to loosen the starter to get the passenger side in. I do however disconnect the positive battery cable and move it out of the way until the header is up in there as the flange can cut into it as you push it up into place.
You can also use the header as sort of a pry bar to push the A/C hardline out of the way. Another suggestion is to remove the clips off the tunnel wall of the chassis that hold the O2 sensor harnesses. You don't need them and the AIR tube if you have it gets hung up on them.
On the drivers side just disconnect the ground strap from the frame with a 10mm socket (or from the block with a 15mm socket-either way). The ground strap can get it the way.
Other than that, nothing needs to be removed or loosened.
