Default Question on torque converters

I have never been in a vette with a tc  and have some questions. If you are staged at the drag strip and go wot, do your rpm's 'flash' to the rpm's advertised for the converter (Yank 3000-3000 rpm)? On the street, for normal driving, how does it affect stop and go driving? You know, driving in crowded suburbia :mad Since I'm kind of new to this, I need it explained in layman's terms. Thanks :D

Mike, if you are not too far from New Jersey, come to the Corvette Challenge tomorrow at E-town and you can take a ride in my 98 A4 with the ProTorque converter. I will be in the lanes setting up the event just ask for Dennis. This is my daily driver and I have over 65,000 miles on the car with almost 58,000 on the converter. Let me know if you want to set it up.

No, you will spin the tires way before the advertised stall. I have the sy3500 and driving on the street is fine. I like it better in fact. It takes a day or two to get used to, but you'll love it. The 3000 should be even closer to the feel of the stock converter, so you shouldn't have a problem at all.
