91 Octane vs. 93 Octane

91 Octane vs. 93 Octane
Need advice guys. I'm in Cali and our pump gas is 91. I found a place by my work that has 100 octane and I have a chart where I can mix 2-3 gallons of the 100 octane with about 9-10 of 91 octane and get 93 octane. There car will go to get tuned this week and I'm trying to find out if it would be better to tune for 93 octane.
Anyone in Cali doing this???

Don't know about CA, but here in CO, 91 is as high as it gets for pump gas. The cars don't seem to run any different. That said, if your car is heavily modded and need a custom tune to bring it all together, the higher the octane the better, would be my guess.

You will be able to put more timing in it with the higher octane and make alittle more power but then you will always have to mix your fuel to get 93 or you'll get spark knock.If you ever take long road trips then that wouldn't be to good.You may be able to use some octane booster while on the road to get it up to 93 but I don't have alot of faith in them.If you want to run octane booster then just pick out the one you want to use and put it in the car with the 91 and have it tune for it.
