Default Which Thermostat

I live in AZ so cold starts and heat isn't really an issue. What temperature would be a good choice for a thermostat.

The stock thermo is good anywhere in the country. The engine will operate at a proper temp with the stock thermo. There is nothing to be gained by switching to a lower thermo.

Go with the Hypertech 160 and reset the fan temps.

I just got the 178 deg., the car's temp stays around 187 while driving but still skyrockets to up around 220 when you sit still.

170 in mine w/ the fan temps set at a low come on point! I live in the desert in California and this seems to be a great combo for my '98 Vette!

Over the past weekend I went from a 180 back to my 160. Car ran like crap with the 180. Maybe because it was tuned with a 160. Anyway a 160 or 170 with fan settings should do you fine. IMHO

I personally have a 160*Thermostat, It's good to have & works well, but the fan Is always coming on about every 2 mins. Even In the winter!!

I’m not sure I understand this statement. My car runs consistently quicker and faster at the drag strip with a low temp thermostat and coolant temperatures 178-180 degrees as opposed to 192-195 degrees with the stock thermostat

The LS1 does not run it's best quarter times when the coolant temp is hotter, it likes 180-190F.
